Half Waveplate

A half-wave plate produces a phase delay of an odd multiple of π. The polarization state changes of various polarized lights after passing through a half-wave plate are shown in Table 1. It can be used as a continuously adjustable polarization rotator. Additionally, when used in conjunction with a polarizing beam splitter, a half-wave plate can function as a variable ratio beam splitter.

Half-wave plate: Commonly used for polarization control in laser processing and polarization modulation in optical measurement systems (such as rotating analyzers)

2. Zero-order half-wave plate: Small temperature drift, good wavelength stability, the first choice for semiconductor/laser equipment.

3. Multi-order half-wave plate: Inexpensive, suitable for fixed single wavelengths.
