An optical dome is a lens element with two concentric spherical surfaces. It is usually made of optical materials such as K9 glass and fused quartz, ZnS ZnSe,its parallel tolerance can be controlled within 2 μm. Common shapes include hemispherical or super-hemispherical structures. It is widely applied in fields such as detectors, optical sensors, underwater photography, and security monitoring. Its main functions include protecting internal optical components, providing large-angle incident light windows, and optimizing the performance of light path transmission.

Where the dome lens used for?
From the perspective of application scenarios, optical glass dome lens can be classified into the following categories:
Industrial and scientific research: Require high precision and high light transmittance. They are commonly used in sensors, detectors, scientific research equipment, etc. High requirements are placed on the material and processing techniques.
Security and photography: They should have excellent optical performance and protective properties, suitable for underwater photography, surveillance cameras, etc. Commonly, K9 quartz or fused quartz materials are selected.
Special-purpose dome: Such as the covers for unmanned aircraft and missiles, which may need to meet special requirements like high-temperature resistance and impact resistance. Some of them may use high-end materials like sapphire.
